After receiving the Serge Payer Foundation scholarship in 2006, I attended the University of Ottawa for a B.Sc in Human Kinetics. I then pursued a B.Ed at the University of Ottawa. Since graduating, I have spent the last 10 years teaching at the secondary level in the Ottawa area, as well as coaching various sports at the high school level. I have always wanted to be a teacher, so the scholarship was valuable as it allowed me to focus on my studies and allowed me to financially pursue my teaching degree.
