RDHS High School - 2010 Serge Payer Foundation Recipient

Currently I am in the financial industry by way of advocating for financial literacy as a proud Financial Literacy Campaigner. A lot of what I experienced through athletics has allowed me to bring those skills into my career and how my whole family helps others with their finances. I retired from sport due to injury but loved every moment of representing Canada on a national stage as a 100 meter hurdler.

The Serge Payer Foundation Scholarship helped me cover expenses for my training in 2010 which saw me representing Canada at the World Junior Track and Field Championships. What a lot of people don't know is that funding is one of the greatest limiting factors to how far a track and field athlete can go given the time spent in school and training after hours. Every little bit counted and I was very grateful to receive bursary to offset those costs to allow me to follow my athletic dreams!
